ADAPTING TO EVERYDAY LIVING

Some of us find it a little challenging to be part of our spiritual awakening and yet be part of the material world.  So many live out their entire lives simply existing, attached to ego and gathering things.  Money becomes a prime focus and life is wrapped around trying to obtain happiness through security.

Most discover that no matter how fat their wallets become, something is still missing in their life.  Happiness based on material abundance is very temporary and the satisfaction which is expected never seems to be reached or maintained.  Life becomes a frantic search for more.....for something else.

Happiness is not obtained through financial security or through any monetary means but happiness is experienced from within.  True, lasting happiness cannot be bought but can be experienced from a deeper place.  We are beginning to understand this concept.

Although we recognize that we are on a spiritual journey, linked with all living things, it can be challenging when many of us feel as though we have no one to talk that would understands our journey.  We may feel alone in our pursuits and most individuals we are emotionally close to would not understand our beliefs and concepts.  Somehow we feel left alone to explore these areas on our own. 

We also are beginning to understand that once we open the door to this higher internal dialogue, closing the door back up again is virtually impossible (not that we would ever want to).  Once opened to this way of life, it is impossible to return to what once was. 

There are many groups of like-minded individuals that gather and share their thoughts.  In reality, there is no need to feel alone.  As you open this door, you will notice more and more that others share your ideas and focus.  Due to your own personal state of awakening, you recognize and draw to you those of like-mind. 

Do not be in a hurry, for this journey is one of exploration.  If we hurray we will miss part of the beauty of the experience which would include everyday living.  Our earthy experience certainly has its place in this process.

TECHNIQUES FOR FORECASTING IN ASTROLOGY

As we become familiar with the basics of Astrology, such as the signs, houses and aspects, we begin to get a firm foundation of the meaning behind the horoscope.  The birth chart is a precise tool that will delineate the character traits of any individual.  There are many variations found in a natal chart and this is what defines us each as unique individuals.

Once we grasp the energies of the different positions of the Sun and all of the other planets within the framework of the individualized chart, we can move on to delineating a chart for upcoming transits and progressions.  These tools are used in astrology to decipher potential future events and what areas of life will be affected by the passing of these transiting and progressed planets through the natal chart.

We have to take into consideration all of the planets but pay special attention to the outer planets, (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) and also any inner planet that is in retrograde motion for a prolonged period of time.  The inner planets move very quickly through the zodiac and under most conditions, they do not have lasting effects on us.  If however any of these inner planets do go into retrograde, they can pass influential areas of our chart and stay within close relationship to these points for extended periods of time, often crossing the same positions possibly three times over the span of its retrograde cycle.

The outer planets and retrograde planets passing over sensitive points in our birth chart, particularly the Ascendant and the Midheaven, can have profound effects on our lives.  They often point towards turning points and significant life events that can alter our perception and instigate action that changes our experience.  At times, they will point towards changes to our lives that are very significant. 

The most powerful transit occurs when a transiting planet conjuncts a natal sensitive point or planetary body.  The energies of the planets merge and become one.  Under most circumstances, this merging intensifies these energies in the area where these planets can be found in the birth chart.  They will also intensify when there is a natal link already between these two planets which provides an outlet for the inherent energies to manifest. 

The houses are areas of life and the transiting planet will intensify these points and may produce profound life altering effects.  When there are several transiting planets defining the same potential at the same time, these energies will be released.  In order for an event to take place, we need at least three links suggesting the same type of event.

The outer planets can be within an orb of influence for up to two-three years depending on when they go into retrograde motion and the timing of when they become direct again.  The first impact when a transiting planet in retrograde motion makes an important aspect to a natal position or planet will be the most potent.  An example of this might be Saturn in conjunction to Mars at 15 degree of Aries.  Both planets become direct when the transiting planet is exactly 15 degrees Aries.  Other aspects such as the square - a 90 degree aspect, the opposition - a 180 degree aspect, and the trine, sextile, and inconjunct, will also impact the areas of life indicated.  The major aspects are more significant than the minor aspects and the challenging aspects (sometimes the conjunction, always the square and opposition) can promote transitions in our lives.

There are several progressed aspects that are also important determining factors when deciphering a birth chart and the potential for change in a person’s life.  We will look at the progressions at a later date.  The progressions are more internal in their nature.  We use the progressed Moon, transiting Mars, transiting Sun and transiting Uranus as timers for a chart.  They often produce a push that activates the energies of the outer planets involved in an aspect and often initiates an event or internal insight.

This is a short explanation on how to delineate potential life events as well as the timing as to when these events may unfold.  We hope this provides a little insight into the understanding of how to decipher potential events through Astrology in the future.

THE POWER OF YOUR THOUGHTS

Many open-minded thinkers not only believe but know of the power of positive thinking.  There are many who understand and use positive thinking to benefit their daily lives.  They understand how thought and focus transfer into physical reality and that our thoughts and focus manifest over time.  These individuals carefully lay plans for further growth on many levels of creation. 

In the early stages of this process each individual goes through their own personal awakening or understanding of these potentials.  There are times in the beginning that there is doubt in the process and this will temporarily hinder our progression.  When we veer off course, depending on how far we had blindly followed these negative tendencies, we have to recognize ego’s intent and refocus on the positive to realizing our dreams.

Allow you intentions to focus on the things that dreams are made of.  Our visions and ideas will unfold although not always as the exact replica of what we originally visualized.  We can certainly recognize the connection or source of our dreams, and more often than not, that which does materialize far outweighs our original hopes.  All unfolds as it needs to.

Manifestation is a connection with the whole, a connection with source.  Source always knows what is best for our earthly journey.  With a little faith, we can release the need for control and simply allow for our greater good.  Life always unfolds as it should, even though at times it may not appear this way.  Our doubt comes from our lack of true knowledge of our full purpose.

Do not get caught up on the minor thoughts that squeeze their way into our consciousness.  Release them as they arrive and know that they do not have enough weight to transcend thoughts into matter.  If you have issues with releasing control, take control through positive reinforcement and focus.  However, if you can find the strength, have faith and release control all together.

 

We walk the road of life together.  Some will fall prey to ego’s relentless pursuit and this can create havoc in their lives.  Others understand the power of suggestion and how it plays an integral part in the process.  We can guide our lives through expectations, focus and belief.   We are not at the mercy of life.  We actually have an impact on everything that happens to us.  On the days that it feels as though life has the control, we have the power to change the way we look at these events to turn them into positive stepping stones in our evolutional journey.    Focus your attention to what you love about your life, and in so doing, you invite more of the same into your life.  Life is a boomerang.  What you send out, you receive back.

PREDOMINANT TYPE OF ASPECT IN A NATAL CHART

In most charts there is a balance of the various aspects.  The average number of any one aspect in a natal chart is generally three or four.  The most common type of aspect includes the conjunction, sextile, square, trine and opposition. 

I suggest using an orb of 7 to 10 degrees to establish an aspect.  A ten degree orb may be of little significance unless the planet is aspected by several other planets or important point in the horoscope (Midheaven and Ascendant).  When there is a significant larger number of any given aspect using this guideline, the nature of the aspect is substantially significant in the life of the individual.  The individual involved will tend to function under the influence of that type of aspect far greater than the other remaining four aspects.

In general, people with a larger number of conjunctions in their natal chart are focused and absorbed in their own private concerns.  Their motivation comes from within and they will use their intense focus in whatever area of life they choose to commit themselves to and often without outer influence.  They tend to move forward in life on their own accord.  However, they can become so identified with their own personal agenda that they rarely go outside of self for assistance.  This makes them somewhat headstrong and they may fail to recognize the importance of other people’s “fresh” input.

People with many sextiles are often very expressive and communicative; however, they often need to be stirred up in order to facilitate action on their part.  Life often seems to just happen and many times things fall in their lap or are acquired with little effort on their part.  Their minds are often artistic and innovative and they are able to focus their attention in many different areas at once.  They may, however, need to be motivated by outside forces to move forward in life.

Those with several squares in their lives are accustomed to adversity in life and because of this will be motivated into action when a crisis situation arises.  They understand instinctively that inaction will settle nothing and often the longer they wait to respond to a challenging situation the more degenerated the situation becomes.   These individuals are known as achiever in life and understand the meaning of hard work.  They do however tend to generate the biggest problems in life often by themselves and can be their own worst enemy.  They should find time for relaxation and adopt an understanding that life sometimes looks after itself.  This will lead to a less stressful life.

People with many trines in their chart will find that often life runs along quite smoothly with little restriction and good things just seem to happen to them.  Opportunities often present themselves to these people without too much effort on their part.  They are naturally born with many talents and abilities that exceed those of the majority of others.  However when they are faced with challenging conditions in life, they are not well equipped to handle the stressful situations.  This is largely due to the fact that these situations do not happen frequently in their lives and they are unaccustomed to challenge.  Life often becomes so comfortable that many lack motivation and they will need someone or life to motivate them forward and get life moving.

Those with many opposition aspects in their birth charts will find that they have a tendency for other people to generate activity in their lives, as often they are swept away by the demands of others.  Their manners have been known to link up with extreme behaviours or contradictions of behaviour.  They can lose themselves in others and need to find balance in personal relationships.  These people sometimes show vision and clarity and are capable of inspirational thinking but need to learn to focus their energies on their own personal projects and to not project them on to others or to ask for assistance.  They need to think for themselves, move forward of their own accord to achieve from their own personal actions.

This journey is yours and yours alone.  We may all walk a similar road and will all eventually end up in the same place, but each step that we take varies and our knowledge and understanding must be what suits our path.

Once again if you have found something that resonates truth for you, allow is to be, for it is right for you.  You can share this information with others if you wish, as perhaps it will also echo truth on some level for them, but the message and its truth resides in you and this is all that matters right here and right now.

SHIP OF LIFE

It is said that we learn from these life lessons and this is certainly true, but why can we not learn from easier lessons?  Is there some other way to teach us lessons so that we can still reap the full understanding we need to learn?

If we had control over every event in our life, would we actually shelter ourselves from the full lessons we need to learn by lessoning the hardships along the way?  Would we choose an easier path to enlightenment?  They say that the best lessons learned are the more difficult ones, but why is that? 

We may accept that life teaches us what we need to learn, but can we accept without question some of the challenges that are provided by life? 

In reality there is little choice and we have to adapt to these conditions.  They are what they are.  Quite the statement, but ultimately this is the truth.

Fighting hardships that are placed in front of only serves to make what feels difficult even harder.  It may appear in the beginning that you are winning when you are paddling up stream against the rapids but eventually you will tire and the current will take you downstream where you were meant to go in the beginning.  Face your kayak downstream right from the get go, climb in and enjoy shooting the rapids.  Ego tells you to paddle against the current.  What does this accomplish?

We are well equipped to handle most of life’s events.  There are times when we travel in a single person kayak but there will be times when we have to utilize a ship.  Call upon the best mates you can find to help sail that ship.  A dear friend, earthly trained professionals, our higher self, our guides and Source are the best shipmates available. 

We are in control of our ship.  We make the decisions on how to sail this life by our attitude towards the waters we ride.  Put the journey into proper perspective.  Attitude and belief structure are key ingredients in resolving issues that enter our lives.  When we meet with a trained professional they do not do the work for us, they guide us to understanding but in the end we make the adjustments that are necessary.

Regardless of how we address our journey, we are the one that sets the course.  Realize your control and strength.  Know that these are yours.  Work as hard as you need to control your ship in these turbulent waters but know this storm will pass and you will again enjoy the calm waters.

FULL MOON IN SCORPIO

We will be experiencing a Full Moon in the sign of Scorpio at 2 degrees 31 minutes on the 22^nd of April in central Ontario.  If you have a planetary influence or significant point (Ascendant or Midheaven) within 5 degrees of the full moon placement, you will have heightened sensitivity to this Full Moon.  Check your chart for house location of planets at the 2 degree 31 minute placements or points also at this degree to establish the area of life which will be affected.  If you have several planets that fall at 2 degrees 31 minutes, it will be a time of activity and all these areas of life determined by house position will be activated.

Scorpio is intense and pushes transformation.  If for example you have Venus close to this degree there will be an increase in social activities.  If for example your Saturn is influenced, you may experience more responsibility in your life.  If the planet Mercury is being influenced, your mind is subject to many changes and your thinking process will be affected. 

Go a little deeper to include the house influence in your chart.  If Mars is being affected and it is in the fourth house, you may experience changes within the home and with family.  If Jupiter is involved and its house placement is say in the ninth, you may experience changes in your religious viewpoints or you may think about returning to school to further your education or you may experience some legal issues.

Transiting Pluto is in square to Uranus during this Full Moon cycle suggesting potential insight into deeper potentially transformational information.  A heightened awareness is available although it will not be obtained without some struggle.  Uranus always asks us to awaken to new possibilities and challenges anything in life that has gone stagnant.  Pluto will uncover what this new line of action may be.  Pluto will unravel deep hidden matters and bring them to the surface so we have to deal with them and Uranus will push for a change of direction and a new start.

We also have Saturn in a square to Jupiter adding a push and pull situation to our responsibilities and obligations in life.  Part of us will want to slow things down and get to the route of this challenge in life.  It will offer information from a higher source to help us with these issues or make us look at them from another perspective and from a higher vantage point.  Saturn tends to restrict and it wants our undivided attention and challenges us to think things out before making any decisions.  It wants us to be sure about what we are thinking about doing and wants us to take a safe, tested and tried route. Saturn appreciates roots and insists that we built on a secure foundation.  Jupiter however pushes us with exuberance and optimism.  Jupiter believed that now is the time to move ahead in life.  It suggests alternative approaches that will broaden our horizons and that will heighten our experience of life.  As we can imagine, Saturn’s restrictive nature and Jupiter’s expansive potential together can make things rather challenging and somewhat confusing.

Some of the seeds that we planted when the New Moon was in Scorpio are now reaching maturity.  We will have to decide just what we should do with what we set in motion some six months ago.  We may have all things in order, we may have to make a few adjustments or we may have to stop, begin anew and cut our losses. 

Look deep into your chart and see where your journey may be taking you.  Plan accordingly.  Remember life always unfolds as it should, even when it appears as though it is not.

SUN IN TAURUS

The Sun moves into the sign of Taurus on April 20, 2016.  This post applies to individuals with their Sun in Taurus, and to a lesser extent to those with many planets in the second house or to those that have their rising sign in Taurus. 

As we move from the fiery sign of Aries and into the earth sign Taurus, we have pushed ourselves out into the world and are now ready to move into a more secure life situation.  Aries instigates aggressive pursuit to make something out of themselves and Taurus now wants to instil a more sure-footed response, as well as security from what has been done with life up until this point in time. 

Taurus’ energy builds a foundation that can stand the test of time.  This is often acquired through material means and security is often measured by the rewards offered from a bank account that is slowly but steadily rising.  Taurus individuals are security minded and use determination and discipline to reach their objectives in life.  They do not rush to stake their claim as Aries individuals would.  Taurus individuals choose a more solid structure that guarantees success.  They are determined and not afraid of hard work and understand that if this is what it takes to achieve success, then that is the route to take.

They are not very spontaneous and Taurus people like a tried and tested route.  They quietly build on this structured ground and move forward in their quest for security and stability in life.  They rarely sway off the chosen path and can be counted on in any situation.  In times of strife they are usually cool headed and ward off anything that could jeopardise their sense of safety.  They master through perseverance and staying steadfast and standing tall in the face of adversity.  They are very calm individuals although once you have angered them they are quite explosive and have a difficult time settling down.

Taurus individuals are very fixed in their ways and also quite opinionated.  Some are considered inflexible and stubborn to a fault, as they have a difficult time adapting to anything new and will stubbornly adhere to their ways of doing things.  They are not spontaneous in their decisions, but will remain true to their word once it has been given.  This makes them quite reliable and responsible individuals.  You can count on these individuals and they will stick through things until the end result has been achieved.  Time taken is not of significance, as they know that in order to build that secure and reliable product they have to do things right, rigid to the plan and with a sure footed approach.  They believe that they will find the structure that they are in search of.

In loving relationships they are faithful to their partner and will work hard at maintaining a meaningful relationship.  They are romantics and also very sensual people.  They will lavishly look after those they love with luxury and surround them with beauty.  They are very earthy and not inclined to wanderlust activities.  They prefer to remain at home, and travel is not something that means a whole lot to them.  They will however travel to keep their loved ones happy.  They like structure in their life and anything new that has the potential of unsettling their comfortable life can produce anxiety and worry.  They like things to be predictable and steady.    

To uncover more meaning in life, Taurus individuals will school themselves through practical learning and formulated ideas.  If this suggests long tedious tasks that require concentrated energy and an ability to keep moving in an intended direction, they can be counted on in reaching this destination.  Patience is a key character trait that they can rely on throughout their lives.

AWAKEN TO THE GIANT WITHIN

Recognizing who we are at a spiritual level is paramount to our true awakening.  We have to understand our inner identity, which is not earthbound, but spiritual.  Our connection to self begins with this understanding and being hypnotized by the mundane concerns of earthly living actually stagnates this progress.

We are not our bodies.  We are not our achievements.  We are not our failures.  We are not just this individual we know as ourselves throughout this earthly life.  We are spirit and this knowledge slowly unlocks in varying degrees through this awareness.  We are spirit right now living in human form, temporarily caught up in this human existence.  We do not have to wait until we move on from this existence into the next level of consciousness or pass over to become in touch with our spirit.

We do however have to recognize ego’s intent and refrain from identifying with ego’s superficial hold on us.  Many of us are caught up in this transitional stage and have a hard time breaking away from ego’s stronghold.  Many actually believe that they are their ego and identify with it on a constant and continual basis.  They recognize its negative impact in their lives and believe that they deserve ego’s persistent efforts to make us believe that we are worthy of nothing beyond simple existence.  Guilt is a by-product of the ego and as long as ego maintains its stranglehold, we cannot rid ourselves of our feelings of guilt.

How we live our life, becomes riddled with guilt.  Who we believe we are as individuals for many perpetually raises our focus on guilt.  This portrayal of guilt becomes an ever-present sidekick that keeps us at bay and stops any type of true progress as a spiritual entity.  All that is defined as evil in the world can be attributed to ego control and resulting guilt.  Those that live through power and control have taken on an ego identity and are not aware or do not believe that there is another portrait of themselves.  The live their lives trying to protect what they believe is their true identity but in reality, that which they are hiding is neither a part of their earthly self nor their true whole self.

We owe it to ourselves to stifle ego and get to know the true self.  We can awaken to our true potential.  We can assist others to awaken to their true self and true potential.  We are a global consciousness.  We are together one consciousness aligned with source, without exception.  By working on self, we also work on our global consciousness.
